MB SD Connect C4 WIFI

MB SD Connect C4 WIFI set on WIN10 laptop Xentry 03.2017 OK

Here share with you a personal tested guide, hope it helps and try your own risk!
How to set up MB Star C4 Wireless on a Dell XPS15 9550 laptop WIN10 and run Mercedes Xentry 03.2018 software?



I'm running Win10 on a Dell XPS15 9550 laptop with Intel AC 8260 internal wireless card installed.

After days of investigation and testing, the most important thing is that: The drivers for your wireless card MUST support AdHoc functionality.

This can be verified at the DOS command prompt. The command is: Netsh wlan show drivers
This command will show "Yes" or "No" on the line for "Hosted Network Support".
If this line says "No", AdHoc will not work properly.
Although I'm running Win10, Intel has drivers for the 8260 wireless card for Win8 which will enable proper AdHoc functionally.

The trick is to download the driver first, prior to removing your existing wireless driver. Download the driver ONLY, not any driver file with additional driver management apps included in the downloaded file.

Now you can go into Device Manager and remove your existing wireless card AND check the box that removes all software associated with it. My Win8 driver download file was a .exe file. I double clicked on it and the Win8 driver for my Intel 8260 card was installed. Went to Device Manager, right clicked on my 8260 wireless card and selected Properties. Clicked on Advanced and was able to see several AdHoc related entries. These AdHoc entries were not visible using the Win10 drivers.

AdHoc can now be verified at the DOS command prompt. The command is:
Netsh Wlan show drivers.
This command will show "Yes" on the line for "Hosted Network Support".
If this line says "No", AdHoc will not work properly

With AdHoc functionality confirmed, additional DOS commands can now be used to enable Road24h wireless connectivity.
This is what worked for me. Depending on your computer skills, your results may vary.

—With the Dell D630’s dedicated serial port, there was no issue for me…. it was plug and play… I just loaded the HDD from the Seller into my Dell and all I needed to do was activate WIS/EPC and XENTRY/DAS with “activation keys”… I only use the Dell for mb star sd c4 purposes…

—Bought an older Dell D630 laptop with a serial port and plan on buying MB SD Connect C4 directly installed in a Dell D630 hard drive. No Virtual Machine issues.

—Mercedes Benz Star diagnosis C3 / C4 actually specifies the computer or tablet used in the SDS environment… The T30 is rather slow but will get the job done.

—If your ever in the market for a faster SDS laptop, the Dell D630 with at least 2Ghz and the speed improvement especially when using Xentry is like night and day.

—the HDD that is pre-loaded with the software for SDConnect 4 by the Seller, is inserted into the DELL D630… The DELL D630 is the fastest laptop with the RS232 feature.

—Need to connect directly into a RS232 port without using an interface – this is why I went for the complete system with laptop.

—The software Xentry/ DAS is a bit slow on an old IBM so that it is worth paying a bit extra and getting a Dell D630.

—There is a very specific set of COM ports you must use for it to work. For example you need DAS to be looking at COMx within the VM session, then VMware needs to redirect that to COMx which is a ‘physical’ serial port on your machine.

—It’s probably because it has a real com port. Most laptops these days have just a USB port and things don’t always work right if you’re using a USB to RS-232 converter. You wouldn’t want to brick a component during an update if you’re using USB. The other option would be to get a C4 system, but then they cost more. I think there are a couple other systems out there like IBM that also have real com ports.

Obdstar X300M

(solved) Obdstar X300M cannot do some models to change km

Here are some OBDSTAR X300M solutions of unsuccessful odometer correction on some models. Enjoy!

Error message may be like that:


If you find that some models cannot change mileages, please follow the steps below:

1 Power On X300M unit -> Start -> System Settings -> Data Log -> On -> ESC Return to Main Menu;

2 when matching vehicles in the list, but OBDSTAR X300M pops up the error message communication failure, please unplug the machine;

3 unplug the TF card, which the root directory LOG folder

4 send folders in the document to http://www.cnautotool.com/, engineers there would help analyze the problem

Note! Every time you unplug the x300m machine from CnAutotool, the data record will automatically be turned off. So, if you want to save the data the next time , you need to follow the above steps to re-open the data record

AK500 Key Programmer


How to solve Benz AK500 Key Programmer Smartkey.exe Problem


Here are the customer solutions to Mercedes Benz AK500 key programmer not running smartkey.exe problem. Hope it help if you are looking for the solution. YOU ARE AT YOUR RISK.

Problem:

When I install software everything was work properly. After some time, I try open and write key, but not starting smartkey.exe or which can’t write nec I.C, just in this moment I hear a beep windows error sound… any ideas?

I install ak500 software on Windows XP SP3 without any anti virus program.


Customer solutions:

Solution 1:



The first attempt:

Still have problems with smartkey.exe

i installed it on win7 ultimate 64 bit and everything works as it should, but cann’t get it to work on xp sp3 32bit, installed the xp fresh and the ak500+ software when it starts doesn’t even search for the hardware.. but smartkey.exe when started from installatin folder works now.. The main window pops right up and only firmware update is availible. Drivers are correctly installed and in device manager is also everything ok, tried com 1, 2 and 3.. same

Second attempt:

I struggleed with this issue for a quite of time. Ok you can make a few things here. A forum member helped me to solve that. I had to use win xp SP2, and he sent me the software for ak500, not ak500+ !! The installation is different and when you install the ak500 software it adds some files wicj the ak500+ install didn’t. So after that smartkey.exe did work and when i started ak500+ also. So it was something missing in the install that i got with my device. BUT i figure it out that i need smartkey.exe ONLY for writeing the nec in the zif socket. But what i did not try and what sure has to work also without smartkey.exe was soldering the virginised nec on the key pcb and write the key via IR port !

So try that mate but the install of the old ak500 software should solve your issue.

Solution 2:

Install fresh xpsp3 black edition, apply all patches of this xp, install ak500 software, install drivers and smartkey will work.



Solution 3:

All Ak400 and Ak500 software work, but

1. SmartKey program start only on IDE hdd, no any other work!
2. have problem with comport some time not found, this come after clear driver installation
3. for ak500 ESL 203 use any drive (local, usb) but Volume must be AK500


FIY:

Program new key on MB w203 with AK500 key programmer

Step a) open eis if the mcu is hc07 familly then desolder the first one .
Step b) Put it in the ak500 holder , be carfull with the point of the chip .
Step c) Choose the correct mask in software for the mcu .
Step d) Read the mcu and save the file .
Step e) Open the skc and load the bin file that you read .
Step f) Choose the key number that you see free.
Step g) Solder the mcu back in eis .
Step i ) Write the key if is new by infarent holder .
Step k ) Put the key in eis and start the car
